April 26th: National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
Drop off your unused or expired medication at the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Altoona Emergency Services building in Altoona or at the Eau Claire County Government Center in Eau Claire.
Take-back days increase the awareness of safe medication disposal in Eau Claire County. Residents are encouraged to safely dispose of expired or unwanted medications at a drop-off location. Dropping of medications is anonymous and quick!

What’s accepted:
Prescription and over-the-counter medications
Ointments
Patches
Non-aerosol sprays
Vials
Pet medications
Sharps, which include needles, lancets, syringes, auto-injectors, and other sharps devices. Only one small container of sharps per household will be accepted at the April event.
Blister packages are acceptable if the medications haven’t been removed.
Liquid medications, creams, and sprays must be in their original packaging.
