Drop off your unused or expired medication at the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, October 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Altoona Emergency Services building in Altoona or at the Eau Claire County Government Center in Eau Claire.
FREE Opioid Overdose Prevention Workshop Wednesday, August 28th
At the workshop, you’ll learn about opioids, local data, how to respond to an opioid overdose, how to safely store opioid medication, information on fentanyl and fentanyl test strips, and how to use Narcan (naloxone), a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.
New medication drop box now available 24/7 in Eau Claire
The Eau Claire County community can now use a new medication drop box to freely and easily dispose of their unwanted or expired medications. . The drop box is located in the lobby of the Eau Claire County Jail, 710 2nd Ave., Eau Claire and is available to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
ID Check Training
Alcohol and tobacco retailers in Eau Claire County can attend a free training provided by the Eau Claire Police Department and the Eau Claire City-County Health Department on ID checking on August 28th from 3:30p.m. to 5:00p.m. in room J009 at the Eau Claire County Jail.

Harm reduction vending machine will dispense free, lifesaving tools to help prevent overdose deaths
In a new approach to distribute life-saving harm reduction tools in Eau Claire County, two local agencies have partnered to install a vending machine that will distribute free Narcan and fentanyl test strips.
