October 26th: National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Drop off your unused or expired medication at the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, October 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Altoona Emergency Services building in Altoona or at the Eau Claire County Government Center in Eau Claire.

Prescription drug take-back days increase the awareness of safe medication disposal in Eau Claire County. Residents are encouraged to safely dispose of expired or unwanted medications at a drop-off location. Dropping of medications is anonymous and quick!

What Can I Drop Off?

You may safely dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, liquids, creams, non-aerosol sprays, vials, pet medications and sharps (needles, syringes, lancets, and EpiPens). Only one container of sharps per household will be accepted.
